In Resident Evil Uprising, players take control of Claire Redfield, who has entered Raccoon City to search for her brother, Chris. Along the way she'll meet up with Leon Kennedy as they must fight their way out of the city.
Adapted specifically for cell phones, Genesis features an isometric view using 2D sprites instead of the 3D graphics originally found in Resident Evil 2. The gameplay has also been adapted as well, focusing on puzzle solving and adventure. Rooms often require specific keys or items that allow the player to progress to the next area, and these items are often hidden in various objects, such as dressers and plants, forcing the player to search the entire room in order to continue.
The game features multiple different weapons, including alternate ammo for some of the weapons, such as the Grenade Launcher.
